Roles and permissions

Explains company roles and workspace access so you can invite people with the right permissions.

Role shown in the app What they can do
Admin Full access to all workspaces and company settings. Can invite/manage users, edit takeoffs, manage Cost Database, and change company information.
Member Access only the workspaces you grant. Per workspace access is Edit or View. Members with Edit can create/edit projects and takeoffs in those workspaces.
Admin (View Only) View all workspaces. Can manage users, roles, and billing-related membership tasks, but cannot edit takeoffs or projects.
Guest View all workspaces. No management permissions and no takeoff/project editing.

When inviting or editing a Member:

  1. Check the workspaces they should access.
  2. Set each checked workspace to Edit or View.
  3. The DEFAULT workspace cannot be unchecked.
  • Edit — create and change projects, files, takeoffs, and estimates in that workspace (subject to subscription status).
  • View — open projects and review takeoffs/estimates, but editing is disabled. Takeoff shows: You’re in view-only mode — editing is disabled.

On the dashboard, Create Project, Manage Folders, Bulk Create, and the Cost Database shortcut are shown to Admin and Member users (not Guests or Admin (View Only)).
