Your first project
What this accomplishes
Section titled “What this accomplishes”Walks through the core Bobyard loop: create a project → upload files → include pages → set scale → measure → open Estimate.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- Signed in with Admin or Member access (Edit) on the current workspace
- Drawing PDFs or images ready to upload
- From the dashboard, select Create Project.
- Enter a Project Name (required). Optionally add address, client, bid due date, estimator, project manager, and folder.
- Select Create Project.
- On the project dashboard, open Upload / Manage under Takeoff files to go to Files.
- Upload your PDFs or images and wait until processing finishes.
- Include the pages you need for takeoff (use Include all on a file when appropriate).
- Open Takeoff from the project dashboard or the project navigation menu.
- Open the scale control. If the page shows No scale, set a scale using Auto-Scale, a preset, Custom, Draw, or Copy from….
- Select a measurement tool (rectangle, polygon, circle, length, or count) and measure on the page.
- When quantities look right, open Estimate from the project navigation menu.
Expected result
Section titled “Expected result”Included pages appear in takeoff with a valid scale, measurements show in the measurement sidebar, and Estimate lists quantities from those measurements.
Cautions
Section titled “Cautions”- PDF uploads are limited to 250 pages per file. Split larger sets before uploading.
- View-only users can open takeoff and estimate but cannot edit.
- Estimate may show Items Need Attention Before Estimate if some takeoff items need review. Choose Review & Fix or Proceed Anyway.
