Manage items and assemblies
What this accomplishes
Section titled “What this accomplishes”Keeps unit costs, labor, materials, and assemblies reusable across projects.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- Admin or Member role
- Access to Cost Database from the dashboard toolbar or logo menu (
/cost-database)
Browse the database
Section titled “Browse the database”- Open Cost Database.
- Use tabs Items and Assemblies.
- For assemblies, filter Bid Ready or Not Bid Ready when those filters are shown.
- Open folders/items to review unit of measure and cost fields.
Import or apply templates
Section titled “Import or apply templates”- Use Data Template to download or work from the expected spreadsheet structure when available.
- Use Import Data to upload company cost data.
Expected result
Section titled “Expected result”Items and assemblies appear in the Cost Database and can be referenced while building estimates and organizing takeoff groups.
Item types you may see
Section titled “Item types you may see”Depending on your Cost Database version, base items may include categories such as equipment, labor, material, subcontractor, and other, with units like ea, ft, ft2, hr, and ls.
